My God Fights For Me

If I collected all the things that go wrong or don’t work out in one or more places, I’d fill multiple canyons. I have found this book journey full of closed doors. On the positive side, there have been an array of open ones. I have found myself once again overwhelmed and frustrated. Why? God placed in my heart a deep desire to create speaking engagements throughout this year to include praise & worship (three or four songs), message (using an entry as the springboard for each event), and prayer session (related to the topic).

I’m excited to embark on such an amazing experience by sharing God and some tools that have gotten me through the fires, mountains, and valleys. I have to face disappointments and second-guessing each opportunity that gets booked. Life has a funny way of shaking our spirit. As this season and journey unfolds, God is reminding me that He fights for me. I am a vessel. He will bring those who need to hear what’s on my heart. He will work it all out for His good.

I may not understand why parts of this journey are really hard or feel like they will not work out. I must push the heavy rocks weighing me down or blocking me to allow God the space to move mountains and clear the air for flight. As I dive into the unknown once again, He comforts me with a song, “My God Fights for Me” by Micah Tyler.

In this song, I remember different characters in the Bible, where God provides and fights for each. His strength reigns and works wondrously through all weaknesses. Each story brings relief and fresh reminders of how glorious our God is in battle. It’s important to remember that we will struggle when we try to fight on our own.

He shields us from the fiery arrows meant to harm us. He will comfort us in disappoints or getting the wind knocked out of us. As we let go to make room for God, He can free us from our past, present, and future. He has won the war. He is victorious! We can rest in knowing He has it all in His hands. Let Him fight for you today. You are never alone, especially when few or none are physically standing beside you!

Though my circumstances and continuous changes have rattled me, I trust Him in what He placed in my heart to do. I look forward to whomever He brings to Cushing in the morning. If you feel a tug at your heart to make the trip and/or show up, I will see you at 10:00 am. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do!
